VAQSO VR is the world’s smallest virtual reality scent device.
About the size of Snickers® bar, VAQSO VR attaches to the bottom of any Virtual Reality Headset and further immerses users in VR contents by emitting realistic smells synced to their virtual environment.
At Tokyo Game Show, we are proud to present 9 scent enabled VR experiences created in collaboration with companies from around Japan and around the world, including Square Enix as well as talks by influential figures in VR.
We hope that by experiencing VAQSO VR, you can understand that scent in VR is an inevitability of the future.
*VAQSO will be released commercially in 2018.

Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur VR (Square Enix/Japan)
Experience the world of Kai-ri-Sei Million Arthur in full VR glory and enjoy the interaction with its characters. In this exclusive TGS version of the game, the smell of characters and their environment draws you in and immerses you in a fantasy world!
Gunpowder x Blood x Kimono
Sairento VR (Mixed Realms/Singapore)
Sairento VR is one of the most popular action VR games in the world and the only one where you get to play a cyber ninja. Perform double jumps, wall runs, power slides and slow time down while blasting away at a foe before landing to deliver a lethal strike on another. Kit yourself with katanas, firearms, bows, throwing glaives and legendary relics.

Dream Pet VR (Subdream Studios/US)
Dream Pets VR is a game where you can play with virtual pets. The game will be released Early Access in September 2017 on Steam, but exclusively during TGS, you can try the game early and also smell your virtual environment and your dog's perfume.

The content puts sensory stimulation front and center, using 360-degree live-action video and stereophonic sound to create incredible realism, “walking” operations to put users in actual motion, a guide avatar with a “hand” for users to hold, and various atmospheric elements—wind, mist and smell, for example—to round out the immersive, fully synchronized experience.

Counter Fight puts you in the position of a ramen chef dealing with hungry customers who visit your store. Assemble different types of ramen, fry dumplings and serve beer to your customers while watching out for thieves! Use sight and smell to keep an eye on your food. Don't let the food burn and don't let people go hungry! Moreover, XVI Inc. applies the trial version of the new viewer system "Third Eye" which enables to see what the person is experiencing in VR without any big changes on the content.

VRider Direct is a CMS for Virtual reality that enables fast, simple precise production of VR content in the cloud. The VR editor can manipulate text, images, video, audio and links. VAQSO VR will be used to implement scent capabilities as another programmable capability.
GOROman President & CEO of XVI Inc.

After first encountering the Oculus Rift DK1 in 2012, he started developing and promoting VR on his own. In 2013, he launched the VR community OcuFes with Mr. Okamono Okaba, and in 2014 he launched The Oculus Japan Team with Facebook Japan, providing technical support for domestic partners and give lectures. Currently, he is committed to developing VR content at XVI Inc. He is also developing VR content and conducting VR outreach as his personal hobby under his nickname "GOROman".
Palmer Luckey Founder of Oculus Rift

The founder and designer of the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality headset, Palmer Luckey is known as one of the people largely responsible for the emergence of virtual reality as a new form of media. He is no longer at Oculus, which was acquired by Facebook in March 2014, but Palmer continues to be active in the VR community.
Takuji Narumi Professor at Tokyo University

A Lecturer at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Information Science and Technology. Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Tokyo. He is the developer of the meta-cookie, a cookie whose taste can be manipulated using scent. He has received many awards including ACE 2014 Gold Paper Award, IEEE VR 2015 Best Demo Award and others.
Mao Manabe Master of Ceremonies
A Reporter, MC, Cook and Beer Sommelier, Manabe started her career appearing on the popular TV show "Koino Karasawagi", but recognition of Manabe's character and facilitation skill led her to become a popular sports reporter, travel & food reporter and event MC. From 2007, she was a special reporter for over 5 years covering Shimizu S-Pulse as part of the J-League broadcast. Today, she is active as a cook and MC for events and TV programs.
