VAQSO is derivative of the Japanese word “bakusou” (爆走), which means “to dash uninhibited”. This name represents our will as a company to charge towards an unknown future.
In developing VAQSO VR, we’ve focused on 3 things.
1. Portability, 2. The capability to mute scents, and 3. The capability to quickly shift between different scents.
We believe that in order to truly provide an immersive experience, a device must possess these three characteristics.
Thus VAQSO VR, the world’s smallest VR scent device has been born as a culmination of CEO Kentaro Kawaguchi’s experience as a designer & developer of scent technology and a perfumer.
When scent is incorporated into VR, its immersiveness dramatically increases. In the past, Visuals, Audio and Touch (haptic feedback) were the only ways to experience a game.
By incorporating scent, VAQSO VR will introduce a totally new experience for users.
VAQSO Inc. started in January, 2017 as a spin off of ZaaZ Inc, a company working to develop scent-related products and promotional tools since 2009.
Both companies were founded and managed by Ken Kawaguchi (the CEO of VAQSO Inc.).
We believe VAQSO VR can be used to increase the appeal and immersiveness in games and also movie trailers.
